Livelihood Challenge

Guddu is a widow who lives with her son in slums in Delhi. The family of two has a meager income source as she belongs to the lowest strata of society. Guddu met with an accident along with two others, who died on the spot. She broke her thigh bone, with no chance of her standing on her feet again without a surgical intervention, the cost of which was beyond her reach.

How Joy Story extended help

Guddu had lost all hope of recovery as she could not afford the surgery. Joy Story Foundation came across the case and sponsored her implant worth INR 8000/- and prevented her to lead the rest of her life in immobility and being dependent on others.

Impact

The prompt treatment and post operative care will help Guddu stand on her feet and restore her preoperative status and lead a normal independent life which would have been difficult if she had not been able to get the required surgical intervention.
