A Vendor of seasonal fruits with a mild disability in one hand. Her daughter, a victim of sexual abuse because of the unavailability of toilet in their premises. Hear daily earnings a meager Rs. 80/- to Rs. 100/- per day.

How Joy Story extended help

A victim of severe sexual abuse, the Child Welfare Committee recommended Sangeeta (name changed) to stay at a hostel. Sangeeta is now living a new chapter in her life, and is gradually getting over her traumatic experience. Her family, which is staying in a house by the roadside in Kadumadanapally, does not have a toilet. The family needed the monetary support to build a toilet cum bathroom, in order to have privacy for the ladies of the house and maybe few more in the neighborhood. Joy Story extended a help worth Rs. 10,000/- for making the toilet.

Impact

Now Venkatalakshmi’s daughter who had gone into depression is back to her normal life. She no longer fears an abuse because of the comfort of using a toilet in her own house. She is now happily helping her young female friends too by offering them the facility of toilet. JoyStory foundation fulfills its sole aim to touch lives, both directly and indirectly.
